The Atlas consists of 10 reports and 152 maps at the scale of 1:500 000 (4 versions on 38 sheet lines), containing the inventory of aquifers, their hydrogeological features, the abstraction of groundwater, an estimate of potential additional groundwater resources under present conditions. Maps and reports are complementary. Please note: this publication was undertaken when the EC consisted of nine countries, as below.
