International Geological Map of Europe
New revised edition, in progress since 1964. When completed, there will
be 49 sheets, each 63 x 63 cm, utilising up to 55 colours. Each sheet has
a detailed legend. Prepared by the BfGuR (the German Geological Survey),
for the Commission for the Geological Map of Europe of the IGC. As a very
detailed synoptical compilation, this map series provides an essential basis
for interregional geological correlations. As such it is of particular value
to the researcher and the practical geologist. In addition, it constitutes
a very useful aid for the teacher and student of geology/geography at all
levels.
